Dear Colleagues,
Conservation of energy and resources is one of the biggest challenges for society and industry. Modern tribology is one of the main cornerstones of reducing carbon emissions. However, friction and wear protection lacks of a systematic approach based on elemental mechanisms from materials science, physics and chemistry; materials and technologies needed in the near future may not be a simple extension of one which is in our hand now.
Following the successful 2008 symposium in Aachen the 2011 conference belongs to a series of conferences held once every three years under the auspices of the technical committee "Materials aspects of tribology and machining" of the German Materials Society, DGM. The scope of the symposium covers all classes of materials, machining, production and lubrication technologies and targets at practitioners from industry as well as engineers and scientists.
The organisers invite prospective authors to submit an abstract for lectures (15 min oral presentation/ 5 min discussion) or posters (poster panels / short papers during the poster session) relating to the conference topics.
Deadline for the submission of abstracts is 21 February 2011.
If you want to contribute to the conference, please submit your abstract here.
I am looking forward to seeing you!
